Hey!! Can’t believe it is almost Thanksgiving!!! Hope y’all are doing great!
This is an original tag today! So, I’m excited!
In this tag use only the prompts that are relevant to the foods you eat on Thanksgiving or in the Thanksgiving season. For instance, though I mostly put classic Thanksgiving foods, I also added a few that my family seems to have every time but it doesn’t seem to go. 😉
If you do not wish to alter the prompts, then you may also just do the tag as is.
Rules:
- Link back to the original creator of this tag and the blog post you saw it on.
- Answer all the prompts
- Name three things you’re grateful for
- Name three books you’re grateful for
- Nominate at least three other bloggers
- Have fun!
Pumpkin Pie/Muffins: A book that you always return to at a certain time of year
I really don’t know…I usually like to read Lord of the Rings every year, and since the first time I read it was around Christmas/Thanksgiving, I really want to go read that again.
Turkey: A book that you tried due to its popularity, but found a little bland
I really can’t think of one. I never get around to reading the really popular ones. Plus, any that I do, I usually like.
Gravy: A character whose personality creates more “flavor” in the book
Sarah in Strong Heart by Charlie Sheldon. If it weren’t for her, the book would’ve been very bland.
Mashed Potatoes: A book that is such a delicious and enjoyable read
The Wingfeather Saga by Andrew Peterson! They are SO good!! Also, Little Women.
“These mashed potatoes are so creamy.”
Stuffing: A filler book in a series
The second book in The Princess Academy Series called Palace of Stone by Shannon Hale was a big let-down and was truly just a filler that was “needed” in between the first and third.
Homemade Bread: A character in a book who perfectly represents the idea of “fresh”
Razo in The Books of Bayern series by Shannon Hale!! He is the best! And so new and fresh! He literally is just like one of my brothers…just small. He actually has his own book called River Secrets!
My review of The Goose Girl: Book 1 of The Books of Bayern series can be found here.
Deviled Eggs: A book with a misleading title
Probably A Bloody Book by Chris Bowen. It sounds kind “horror-sounding” but it really isn’t. Though it is a hard-hitting gritty book, it isn’t scary. Although, I don’t really know why it is even named that. 😉
3 Things I’m Grateful For:
God, my family, and fresh air.
3 Books I’m Grateful For:
A Bloody Book by Chris Bowen, The Wingfeather Saga by Andrew Peterson, and LOTR (The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien). (Duh.)

Incredible tag! We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving but I loved your prompts 😂 I knew you’d include The Lord Of the Rings too! I feel like I’d go for Anne Of Green Gables for the ‘fresh’ prompt.

Ooh a tag well done Millay! 💗 I haven’t read any of the books mentioned here but I’ll be looking out for Strong Heart!

It’s nice to have a book to reread around Christmas/Thanksgiving. It’s more relaxing to read that way I think.

It definitely can be! Reading for mere pleasure that doesn’t require your brain to try and figure out the plot. You can just revisit the world, characters, and story.
