Let’s Talk Bookish: June 18th

Hi, everyone! How y’all doing? Today, it is time for another LTB!

Let’s Talk Bookish is a weekly meme hosted by Rukky@EternityBooks and Dani @ Literary Lion, where we discuss certain topics, share our opinions, and spread the love by visiting each other’s posts.

Do you feel appreciated as a book blogger?

By my loyal followers, definitely! Those who take the time to read, like, and/or comment on my blog really show me their appreciation and it is wonderful! Thank you guys for that!

Now by my followers who just followed me to get a follow…not as much. 😉

Who do you think appreciates the work of book bloggers the most?

I really don’t know…I know I really appreciate the work of my fellow book bloggers that I know! However, I’m not sure that there is a specific type of people who most appreciate book bloggers other than bookworms.

Do you think that bookish social media is aiding in the depreciation of book bloggers or is it supporting them?

Uh…I really am not that cultured in bookish social media to give an opinion on that question.

Is it wrong to want compensation from the book industry for our work?

I don’t think so. If I am giving you an honest review on your book by your offer, then compensation should be a given, even if it is a small amount. That is why I don’t use NetGalley. They are looking for volunteers to read books and give their opinion…which is all well and good especially since they make it clear that one will not receive compensation…but still. I feel like it would be a good idea for more NetGalley readers to earn a little bit of money from reading and reviewing books. That goes for all books that are requested that a certain person review them.

Well, that’s all for today. What do y’all think? Would payment be fair for us reviewers or is it asking too much? I’d love to hear your thoughts! Thanks for reading, everyone! God bless!

I’m a simple person who likes long walks down the book aisle.

  1. First of all, I love that quote at the end! Feel like I need to add it to my resume LOL!

And yeah, I agree that followers who actually comment and read my posts are the best! I feel so appreciated and my work valued! Also, I would love some compensation too but maybe once I’ve got a more established audience.

    1. Thanks! Haha! YES!! I feel bad when I don’t have time to comment on others though, cause I know that I love it when people comment! Yeah, with a small audience any compensation wouldn’t really be worth it.

      Thanks for reading, Hasini!
