SHOULD BOOKS HAVE CONTENT RATINGS? (DANI)
Movies, television, video games and most other forms of media have content ratings…but not books. Why do you think it is that books have no rating system to determine what is and isn’t appropriate?
I honestly have no clue whatsoever…..maybe because when certain people read something, they don’t necessarily see it in their brain like they would in a movie. However, most avid readers I know sometimes envision it a little too well. So, I really don’t know!
Should there be books that are kept out of the hands of children?
YES! Book with gruesome descriptions of violence, inappropriate sexual stuff, and horror stories. Now, honestly it should be up to the parent to try and determine what is good and healthy for their children’s brains. But, ALL children should not be reading books with vulgar language and scenes. Violence and horror are more flexible to the child in my opinion.
Is it the responsibility of parents or should there be a standard book rating system to deem what’s appropriate?
It should be the standard of the parents. I know that so many things fly in children’s movies and books these days that I would NOT trust the standard rating system.
Well, that’s all for today. What are your thoughts on this topic? I’d love to hear them! Just leave a comment down below. Thanks for reading! God bless you!

I absolutely agree with your answers but I also think a standard rating system and explicit mention of what’s included could be helpful. Loved your answers!
