Let’s Talk Bookish: May 7th

Howdy, folks! Time again for an LTB.

Let’s Talk Bookish is a weekly meme, hosted by Rukky@EternityBooks and Dani @ Literary Lion, where we discuss certain topics, share our opinions, and spread the love by visiting each other’s posts.

WHAT MAKES YOU CONTINUE PICKING UP YA/MIDDLE GRADE? OR WHY DON’T YOU? (SUGGESTED BY SAM @ RIVER MOOSE BOOKS)

If you still pick up YA/Middle Grade, what draws you to them instead of Adult Fiction?

Usually their cleaner and more innocent storylines and characters. Though I think Adult and YA/Middle Grade books can have equally as good fiction, the Adult usually has gross sexual stuff that is completely unnecessary that just takes away from the book in a very BAD way. However, that isn’t across the board. They’re some great and relatively clean fiction adult books and some wildly inappropriate Middle Grade books.

If you’re a teen, do you think you’ll still read YA/Middle Grade when you’re in your 20s/30s?

Oh, heck yeah!

Sorry about the short post today, guys, half of the questions weren’t that applicable to me…so….What are y’all’s opinions about YA vs. Adult? Let me know! Thanks for reading! God bless!

Ciao.

  1. I’m in my 20’s and I still read and love Middle Grade fiction. Sometimes I’m just in the mood for a simpler story or a quick book to read. YA can have a lot of tropes (especially concerning romance) that I’m not a big fan of, but most Middle Grade books I read I end up loving. I especially love when there is a strong friendship involved!
