Mid-Year Book Tag: #BookTagTuesday

Hey, people! Found this tag floating around the blogosphere this past week and decided to try it! Okay, but I originally found it Elaine Howlin’s blog. She has a great blog AND Etsy shop that y’all should really check out! Her work is just simply SO pleasing!

However, this tag was originally created by Chami @ ReadLikeWildfire and Ely @ Earl Grey Books.

Best book you’ve read so far in 2021

Do rereads count? Cause I did reread LOTR. 😉 Okay….I’ll give another book the spotlight this time. Haha! Probably the Hunger Games trilogy, although DragonKnight and River Secrets were really good, too!

Best sequel you’ve read so far in 2021

Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins.

New release you haven’t read yet, but want to

I haven’t really found any that look intriguing. Most of them look like they are trying to make political statements to where I’m like, “Fine, whatever, but I don’t have to read it”….but it seems like all of them are like that. I just want a good story with good characters and a good message. I want an escape from reality, not a bigger, disgusting taste of it!

Most anticipated release for the second half of the year

Again…I am not really anticipating any…

Biggest disappointment

Though I liked it well enough, I’m gonna have to say Forest Born by Shannon Hale.

Biggest surprise

Probably Merlin’s Blade by Robert Treskillard.

Favourite new author (debut or new to you)

Suzanne Collins.

Newest fictional crush

I don’t really get fictional crushes, heck, I barely get real crushes…but, Baron and Razo from DragonKnight and River Secrets were GREAT guy characters.

Newest favourite character

Katniss and Finnick.

Book that made you cry

Mockingjay and LOTR.

Book that made you happy

Tuesdays at the Castle by Jessica Day George….not necessarily because it was a happy, warm-and-fuzzy book, but because it is a GOOD fantasy book for kids! *gasp*

Most beautiful book you’ve acquired this year

I haven’t really found any beautiful ones this year thus far.

What book(s) do you need to read by the end of the year?

DragonFire and DragonLight by Donita K. Paul and I need to reread The Hunger Games Trilogy.

Favourite bookish community member

I don’t pick favorites, but, Cherelle@ABoltOutofaBook and Nehal@QuirkyPages are two that I’m really enjoying!

This was a really fun book tag that made me reflect on the books I’ve read thus far! I really liked it! Anyone who wants to should TOTALLY do it!

What has been the highlight of the year book-wise or otherwise for all my readers? I’d love to know! Thanks for reading! God bless you!

Ciao.

Life is short, time is fast, no replay, no rewind, so enjoy every moment as it comes.
