Let’s Talk Bookish – November 6th

This is my first time participating in Let’s Talk Bookish! I’m super excited because these topics look really fun! This weekly meme is hosted by Dani@Literary Lion and Rukky@Eternity Books. They both have great blogs that you should go check out!

Romance as a subplot: Is romance better as a subplot or main plot?

I really prefer it as a subplot, like it is in many YA books. When it is a main plot, it can get kinda icky, cliche, and boring. Although I haven’t read any books in the Romance genre, I’ve read enough books with romance as a subplot genre to say that, “any more is too much more.”

That’s all for today. Thanks for reading! What do you think? Is romance better as a subplot or a main plot? Why? Do you tend to read more main plot romance or subplot romance? Feel free to share in the comment section or begin to participate in Let’s Talk Bookish. God bless!

There is my heart and then there is you…I’m not sure there is a difference.

  1. True, good point about the cliche… I agree! Especially when I read mostly fantasy or historical fiction the emphasis is on adventure and the human spirit respectively and too overbearing romance does overshadow the main focuses. Great post!
